Outer Hebrides

The Outer Hebrides Renewable Energy Supply Chain Group is currently in the process of forming an organisation to ensure that local services and products are maximised in the development and operation of renewable energy installations in the Outer Hebrides. Leading businesses have joined forces to establish an energy supply chain group that will be led by the Outer Hebrides Chamber of Commerce.

An early objective is to promote services, skills and facilities in the area to key renewable energy developers and contractors. The area has some of the best renewable energy resources in Europe and the group believes that these have the potential to make a huge contribution to the energy and climate change challenges facing the country as well as resulting in significant supply chain opportunities for a wide range of local businesses. The group aims to ensure that the area maximises the benefits of such opportunities.
