Having built up a formidable wealth of experience in the oil and gas industry - where they gained substantial market share for engineering services – Isleburn is now also establishing itself in the renewable energy market.
Knowledge built up with subsea installations, platform construction yards, pipeline fabrication bases and mobile drilling rigs is now being utilised to give Isleburn, previously known as Isleburn Mackay and Macleod, a foothold in wind power.
Significant investment in plant and machinery has also enabled the company to fully cater for the specialised nature of renewable energy fabrication contracts. This positive and bold step has let Isleburn compete in this emerging market and fully exploit the potential of experience and tangible assets, a workforce numbering over 200, a deep-water load out capability and four purpose-built facilities at Evanton, Nigg, Invergordon and Deephaven.
Isleburn, now part of the Global Energy Group, was one of the first UK companies to be awarded fabrication contracts for offshore wind farm equipment and continue to support other on and offshore renewable projects. This includes a long association with hydro-electric power stations and the emerging wave and tidal energy sector.
Isleburn, one of the largest mechanical and electrical engineering companies serving the marine, manufacturing and energy industries in the Highlands and Islands, provides:
