The Scottish Executive has now officially launched its £7.5 million Scottish Biomass Support Scheme. The scheme provides grants to support supply chain, heat, electricity and CHP installations and is open to a range of organisations from producer groups to businesses.

A planning application has been submitted by leading green energy firm npower renewables for a hydroelectric power scheme at Black Rock Gorge near Evanton, Ross-shire.
